Prediabetes Quiz: Find Out Your Risk




Heart Disease Is Linked to Borderline Diabetes

Prediabetes can sneak up on you and gradually develop silently over a long period of time. Unfortunately, diabetes risk and heart disease risk go hand in hand. Take the prediabetes quiz to score your risk for developing this condition.

Special Note: To modify this quiz for women, skip question #2 and use the smaller waist measurement for question #8.

1. I have to urinate very frequently.

2. I'm not as interested in sex as I used to be OR I have problems getting or keeping an erection (women, skip this question).

3. I have high cholesterol, triglycerides or hypertension (without prescriptions).

4. I'm often very thirsty.

5. I have a parent or sibling with diabetes.

6. I've had a blood sugar test and the results were abnormally high.

7. I have more abdominal fat than I should.

8. My waist circumference is larger than 40 inches (larger than 35 inches for women)

9. I don't eat breakfast, but I still have coffee. 

10. I skip a full breakfast but opt for baked goods such as bagels, donuts or muffins.

11. I have a sweet tooth and it's hard for me to resist sugary foods.

12. I'm a late-night snacker.

13. If I don't put sugar in my coffee it has a bitter taste.

14. I need coffee to wake  up in the morning or have problems waking up.

15. I feel like taking a nap after eating lunch.

16. I crave starchy foods like spaghetti and bread.

17. I have at least one sugary soft drink per day.

18. I feel stressed out a lot.

19. It's usual that I have a dessert or treat once a day.

20. Other people my age have more energy than I do.

21. I don't exercise because I don't have time or I don't have the energy.

22. I have Bell's palsy or carpel tunnel.

23. At least once a week I have mood swings.

24. I have road rage or I get very angry with people.

25. It's hard to fall asleep at bedtime.

26. I need to take a nap most days.
